에스컬레이터 안전사고 예방 또는 승강기 안전사고 예방, Accidents in escalators or elevators

  • 요즘 소아청소년들이 쇼핑 몰에서 에스컬레이터 또는 승강기를 타다가 경미한 사고내지 생명을 위협할 수 있는 큰 사고를 입는 경우가 생긴다.
  • 연간 약 2,000명의 미소아청소년들이 에스컬레이터 또는 승강기에 관련된 부상을 입었다고 한다(출처: Pediatrics).
  • 에스컬레이터 또는 승강기가 정상적으로 기능하지 않아서도 안전사고가 날 수 있지만 대부분의 에스컬레이터나 승강기에 관련된 사고는 엄마아빠들이 어린이들을 잘 돌 보지 않아 어린이가 에스컬레이터나 승강기에서 넘어지거나 입고 있는 옷이나 신발이 승강기나 에스컬레이터에 끼어 사고가 났다고 한다.
  • 미 소비자 보호국에서는 다음과 같이 에스컬레이터나 승강기 관련 안전사고를 예방하라고 권장해 여기에 소개한다.
에스컬레이터를 이용 할 때 안전사고의 예방 
① 유모차나 카트에 소아를 태운채로 에스컬레이터를 타지 말고 꼭 소아를 앉고 탄다.
② 장갑, 목도리, 신발 또는 옷에 매달인 끈이 에스컬레이터에 걸리지 않게 짧게 매 주거나 적절히 걸친다.
③ 에스컬레이터에 서서 탈 때 소아 자녀의 손을 꼭 잡고 소아의 얼굴이 타고 가는 방향을 향해 타도도록 한다.
④ 에스컬레이터의 계단에서 놀지 못하게 하고 앉아 있지 못 하게 한다. 에스컬레이터의 가장 자리에 서 있지 않게 한다.
⑤ 에스컬레이터의 응급 정지단추가 어디가 있는지 알려준다.
승강기를 이용할 때 안전사고의 예방 
① 승강기를 타려고 들어 갈 때나 나올 때 끼거나 넘어 지지 않게 주의 한다.
② 절대로 어린이 혼자서 승강기를 타지 못하게 한다.
③ 승강기의 문이 닫히지 못하게 하기 위해 손이나 팔 다리를 이용해서 안 된다고 교육시킨다.

Accidents in escalators or elevators

  • These days, children and adolescents have experienced minor or life-threatening accidents while riding escalators or elevators in shopping malls.
  • It is reported that approximately 2,000 young children per year suffer from escalator or elevator-related injuries (Source: Pediatrics).
  • Safety accidents may occur even if the escalator or elevator is not functioning properly, but most accidents related to escalators or elevators are caused by mothers and fathers not taking care of children well, so children fall on the escalator or elevator, or the clothes or shoes they are wearing are on the elevator or escalator. It is said that there was an accident.
  • The U.S. Consumer Protection Agency recommends that you avoid safety accidents related to escalators or elevators as follows, and introduces them here.

Prevention of safety accidents when using an escalator

① Do not ride the escalator while carrying the child in a stroller or cart. Be sure to sit down and ride the child.

② Tie shortly or wear appropriately so that the straps hanging from gloves, scarves, shoes or clothes do not get caught on the escalator.

③ When standing on the escalator, hold the child’s hand tightly and make sure that the child’s face rides in the direction of the ride.

④ Do not play on the stairs of the escalator and do not allow sitting. Do not stand at the edge of the escalator.

⑤ It tells you where the emergency stop button on the escalator is.

 

Prevention of safety accidents when using elevators

① Be careful not to get caught or fall when entering or exiting the elevator.

② Never allow children to ride the elevator alone.

③ Instruct them not to use their hands or limbs to prevent the elevator door from closing.
